Underwriters Safety & Claims (US&C) is one of the largest third party administrators in the U.S., with thirteen offices in nine states. All of these offices are connected on a real-time basis and pay in excess of $200 million in claims annually.

Claims Administration - is the heart of any property & casualty plan, involving the investigation of coverage and liability, reserving of loss exposures, resolution of claims and payment of related expenses. Regular communications with our clients allows US&C to understand your needs, and provides you with progress updates. With US&C, claims administration includes: (1) ISO ClaimSearch to check for the existence of related claims, and to comply with terrorist watch list & child-support lien reporting mandates, (2) analysis to guard against duplicate or fraudulent payments, (3) maintaining good relationships with other vendors, and (4) formatting comprehensive data on payments and reserves so data can be manipulated and exported efficiently, and trend / cost analysis can be conducted.

Loss Control Services - assist clients in identifying and eliminating accidents before they happen. The least expensive claim is the one that never occurs.

MMSEA Compliance - Section 111 of the Medicare Medicaid SCHIP Extension Act requires regular claim eligibility queries and reporting of eligible claims within tight time frames. US&C accomplishes this directly from our system to CMS. We understand the complexities of this ever-changing federal mandate, and assure that your plan is in compliance. We also provide Conditional Payment auditing and negotiations, to assure that our clients only reimburse Medicare for related expenses at the proper amount.

Subrogation Recovery - US&C adjusters handling the claim files are the most knowledgeable, and best qualified to seek and secure subrogation recoveries. Our efficiencies allow US&C to do so at very low cost.

US&C's staff provides a wealth of experience handling auto, general and professional liability exposures. We do so for a variety of clients, including private industry, governmental agencies, universities, school boards and mining operations.
